Southgate Centre

SPG and partners, Aviva, purchased the Southgate Shopping Centre for £37m in 1995. The site extends to 9 acres in the centre of Bath - a UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Working with Bath and North East Somerset Council, planning consent was granted for the redevelopment of the site to provide 600,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and residential accommodation including a major new department store for Debenhams, 55 shop units, 90 residential units, a new transport interchange and parking for 860 cars. The first phase opened in October 2009 with the second phase in Spring 2010.

Capital value c. £225M.
